Excellent career opportunity for experienced motorhome design engineer with Gulf Stream Coach RV, headquartered in Nappanee, Indiana; a leading builder of quality and innovative RVs, to oversee engineering functions. This position is best served by a dynamic leader with a creative process to design and inspire next generation Motor Homes. The person in this position will be a working supervisor and have broad responsibility for all engineering/design operations.

General Responsibilities:

• Lead the design team in evaluating floor plans, models, and concepts
• Work with engineering teams and embrace continuous product improvement initiatives, cost reductions, quality and manufacturability improvements
• Maintain and enhance existing product lines and models
• Supervise and oversee the work of plant engineers/draftsmen
• Report to Gulf Stream President
• Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, and Operations Managers for efficient, intelligent, popular and cost-effective design, well suited for high volume production

Requirements/Qualifications:

• 5 years of RV motorhome industry experience as an design engineer
• 5 years of successful experience in leading, developing, and training a strong, flexible, and productive teams
• Design engineering degree preferred
• Strong problem solving & analytical skills. Understand the cost drivers associated with various materials, design features and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in Auto CAD and other design/drawing tools and software.
• Vast experience in design, drafting, and structural knowledge of motorhomes
• Knowledge and understanding of RVIA and NHTSA Codes is a must.
• Knowledge of Ford QVM program is beneficial.
• Gulf Stream has a national presence; knowledge of state-by-state unique requirements are a must
• This is a hands-on position; shop floor experience preferred
