The Gulf Stream Coach Cradle of Strength is a proprietary system of steel chassis reinforcements and enhancements that make Gulf Stream Coach motor homes more stable, stronger, and safer.  The Cradle of Strength is the secret behind the legendary road manners and stable handling you'll feel when you're behind the wheel.  It's a system you won't find on any other motor home because it's a Gulf Stream Coach exclusive.  Here's what it is and how it works:

1.  Box-Style Steel "TUFF TRUSSES"

Gulf Stream Coach augments the standard triangle-shaped trusses of the motor home chassis with additional steel to create a series of box-style trusses that stretch across the frame to provide a solid, rigid foundation.  Each TUFF TRUSS can support 6,000 lbs. of weight, and, by adding stiffness and lowering the center of gravity, they significantly improve the balance and road manners of our motor homes. 

 

 

 

2.  Fore-and-Aft Steel Stringers

We tie the TUFF TRUSSES into a unitized whole by welding steel stringers between the trusses.  While the TUFF TRUSSES run across the motor home frame, these stringers run from the front to the back.

 

 

 

 

3.  Additional Steel Welds on the Frame Rail

We add steel welds along the factory frame rail to make TUFF TRUSSES and Steel Stringers an integral part of the frame.

 

 

 

 

 

4.  Galvanized Steel Plate Subfloor

We separate the outer frame from the interior living space with a solid plate of galvanized steel.  This steel subfloor becomes the support for our laminated, insulated interior floor system.

 

 

5.  Galvanized Steel Luggage Compartments

We use galvanized steel to create exterior cargo compartments that are far more rugged and durable than typical plastic boxes.  Then we line the steel with tough but resilient felt to protect your gear from damage.

6.  Huck-Bolted Rear Hitch

We attach the 7500 lb. tow hitch to the rear bumper with six Huck Bolts.  Each bolt is hydraulically secured to provide 14,000 lbs. of shear strength, with for a total of 86,000 lbs. for the six-bolt assembly.

 

 

 

 

7.  Exterior Mount for House Battery

We provide an enclosed but well-ventilated platform for your house battery outside of the living space, anchored to the chassis, to keep the fumes, dirt, and any potential danger outside.

8.  Expanded Foam Sealant

We inspect and foam-seal all openings between the outside chassis and the inside living space, to keep dirt, dust, moisture, and other road hazards outside where they belong.

9.  Frame-Mounted Seatbelts

We provide certified, frame-mounted safety belts for all interior seating positions, so all passengers can sit and travel safely.
