Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. A leading producer of award-winning recreational vehicles located in Nappanee, Indiana, is looking to fill the vital role of Engineer / CAD Drafter for our Motorized Division. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering department.  Responsible for the design, development, and production of RV’s.  this position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and industry knowledge. 

General Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with the company’s overall goals.
• Plant and oversee the introduction of new technologies and innovations in the RV design and manufacturing.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Oversee multiple engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
• Coordinate with other departments such as design, production, and marketing.
• Ensure the design and development of RV’s meet industry standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and oversee the use of CAD software and other engineering tools.
• Develop and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards in RV manufacturing.
• Address and resolve any engineering-related issues or defects.
• Manage the engineering department’s budget, including costs for R&D, materials, and labor.
• Seek cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in the industry regulations and standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, efficiency, and sustainability of RV’s.

General Requirements:

• Extensive experience in the RV or automotive industry, with a track record of leadership in engineering roles.
• Proven experience in managing large engineering teams and complex projects.
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g. CAD, CAE).
• Strong understanding of RV design, manufacturing processes, and materials.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
