We are currently looking for an experienced Forklift / Auto Mechanic. This position will perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on our company forklifts and other equipment. 

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Removes unsafe equipment from facility operating area and notifies supervisor.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and manufacturer specifications.
• Repairs and maintains various types of forklifts including electric, gas-powered, and propane-powered.
• Test forklifts to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
• Conduct tire service operations, including changing and repairing tires.
• Repair and maintain air brake systems on various types of heavy machinery.
• Schedules and performs routine maintenance for forklifts.
• Ensures batteries for electric forklifts are fully charged.
• Replaces empty propane tanks on propane-powered forklifts.
• Maintains repair log for forklifts fleet.
• Perform soldering tasks as needed for electrical components.
• Follow all safety protocols while working on-site to ensure a safe working environment.

General Requirements/Experience:

• Ability to use hand and power tools to repair forklifts.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be physically capable of accessing all parts of the forklift needing repairs or maintenance, either by kneeling, bending, reaching, lying on back, etc.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics related to mechanical systems.
• Strong communication skills to effectively transmit information within the team.
• Valid driver’s license may be required based on job location.
