Gulf Stream Conquest 6251 Review: A Midsize Class C Built for More Than One Kind of Trip

What is the best midsize Class C motorhome for buyers who want flexibility?

The answer is Gulf Stream Coach’s new Conquest 6251.

This 26-foot, 9-inch Class C motorhome is designed to work well for couples, families, road trips, weekends, and longer stays. It combines a manageable midsize footprint with a full wall slide, a walkaround queen bed, a large rear bathroom, plentiful storage, and a well-equipped galley.

In other words, it is not built for just one kind of camper. It is built to be useful in a lot of different ways.

What Is the Gulf Stream Conquest 6251?

The Conquest 6251 is a single-slide Class C motorhome built by Gulf Stream Coach.

It measures 26 feet, 9 inches long, making it a mid-length Class C that is easier to manage than larger motorhomes while still offering a surprisingly livable interior.

The floorplan includes a full wall slide on the driver’s side, which houses both the living area and the walkaround queen bed. That slide is a major part of what gives the 6251 its open, usable feel.

Who Is Gulf Stream Coach?

Gulf Stream Coach is America’s largest independent, family-owned and operated RV manufacturer.

The company has also earned the RVDA DSI Quality Circle Award multiple times, an industry recognition based on dealer feedback. For RV buyers, that matters because it points to a long-standing company with experience, dealer support, and a reputation built over many years.

Is the Conquest 6251 Good for Couples?

Yes. In fact, one of the strongest versions of this coach is the couples configuration with optional theater seating.

That setup gives you:
A comfortable living area
A walkaround queen bed
A large rear bathroom
A spacious galley
A 40-inch LED TV
Plenty of storage throughout the coach

For couples who want a Class C that feels comfortable without moving into a much larger motorhome, the 6251 is a strong fit.

Is the Conquest 6251 Good for Families?

Yes, especially with the booth dinette option.

With the standard booth dinette, the coach can include six seat belts. The overhead bunk can support smaller kids, and the dinette can provide another sleeping area.

That gives the 6251 real family flexibility while still keeping the coach under 27 feet long.

What Makes the Conquest 6251 Floorplan Different?

The biggest difference is the full wall slide.

On the driver’s side, the slide includes both the living area and the walkaround queen bed. That helps open the center of the coach and creates a layout that feels much more spacious than many midsize Class C motorhomes.

Buyers can choose theater seating for a more couple-focused layout or a booth dinette for more family functionality.

What Is the Kitchen Like in the Conquest 6251?

The galley is one of the highlights of the 6251.

It includes numerous cabinets and drawers, soft-close storage, a solid surface countertop, a deep square stainless sink, and a flip-up countertop for extra prep space.

Appliances include:
A three-burner LP cooktop
A 17-inch oven
A convection microwave with air fryer
A 10.7 cubic foot 12-volt refrigerator

There is also a large window in the galley area, so the person cooking or preparing food can still enjoy the campsite view.

What Is the Bathroom Like in the Conquest 6251?

The rear bathroom is one of the biggest reasons the 6251 stands out.

Gulf Stream describes it as an L-shaped bath, and it includes a 36-inch by 30-inch shower with a three-panel glass shower door.

The bathroom also includes a wide vanity, medicine cabinet, drawer storage, hanging storage, and enough space to get dressed with privacy.

For a Class C under 27 feet, that is a major selling point.

What Kind of Storage Does the Conquest 6251 Have?

Storage is a recurring theme in this coach.

The transcript highlights:
Six overhead storage doors above the driver and passenger area
Storage above the bed
Large compartments opposite the bed
Bathroom storage
Galley cabinets and drawers
Pantry or clothing storage across from the kitchen

That makes the 6251 more practical for longer trips, not just short weekend use.

What Chassis Is the Conquest 6251 Built On?

The Conquest 6251 is built on a Ford E-450 chassis.

Gulf Stream also uses its Cradle of Strength foundation and vacuum-bonded laminated construction technology in the motorhome.

What Are the Conquest 6251 Specifications?

Here are the key specs from the video:

What is the best midsize, multi-use Class C motorhome available today?

Well, it’s the Conquest 6251, a 26-foot single-slide Class C built by Gulf Stream Coach, America’s largest independent, family-owned and operated RV manufacturer and multi-year recipient of RVDA’s coveted DSI Quality Circle Award.

The Conquest 6251 floorplan is an outstanding multipurpose, multi-use motorhome. It’s great for families and it’s great for couples.

The 6251 Conquest is a 26-foot, 9-inch, mid-length Class C motorhome. It features a full wall slide on the driver’s side that encompasses a spacious living area, as well as a walkaround queen bed.

In the back is an L-shaped bathroom that’s very open and offers a lot of space.

Besides that, the coach has plentiful storage. It has an incredible galley that has numerous cabinets and drawers to support your living day to day.

It also has an outdoor entertainment system. It’s built on a Ford E-450 chassis. We utilize our Cradle of Strength foundation in terms of building the platform for the motorhome itself. And we also employ our vacuum-bonded laminated technology.

As you come into the coach, over the driver and passenger area is our work area and bunk area. It is unique. We actually put storage up there. We have six doors located up here that have enough space for multiple people’s goods when they’re out camping.

Also, on the passenger side is your 40-inch LED TV that’s mounted to the wall and also swivels, so you can get some different types of angles.

Again, like I mentioned before, we have strip lighting. Off, on, plus you can dim it. Very nice feature.

Above us is some storage, as well as your utility center that you would manage inside.

Below us, when you come in, is our optional auto-level control pad. This unit is optionally equipped with a one-touch auto-level system.

So what makes this 6251 really special is how we’ve designed the floorplan itself.

On this driver’s side, you do have a full wall slide that has the walkaround queen bed, as well as a living area, which we show here with theater seats. You can also option in a booth dinette.

So again, it’s very multi-purpose, very functional.

This setup would be outstanding for a couple. You put a booth dinette in here with the four seat belts, it’s great for a family.

The sleeping above also can support at least two smaller kids. A booth dinette down here could also support another person. So technically, this coach could sleep five people comfortably with the booth dinette.

In this configuration, it has two seat belts here and two seat belts up front, so a total of four seat belts. This will be more of the couples version.

As we pan over to the galley itself, we’ve done a great job in expanding the galley for a large window in back. So whoever is in the galley area can be looking out at the camp side of the coach, enjoying a view of the family.

Here, you’re looking at numerous doors and drawers that are going to be large, spacious, and deep. They are soft-close drawers.

More storage down below. That’s very open and quite large.

Also, we are utilizing a solid surface countertop on this particular feature. It also has a square stainless sink. It’s a deep stainless sink for all sorts of uses.

We also utilize a flip-up countertop to give you extended space in terms of work area.

This unit is designed with a three-burner LP cooktop, along with the 17-inch oven. On top, we’re going to have a convection microwave with air fryer.

Also on the appliance side, you get a 10.7-cubic-foot, 12-volt refrigerator. Very large and very spacious. More importantly, it keeps your ice cream cold. It’s more like ice cream and less like soup when you get to it.

Opposing the galley is some additional storage, and in these two doors you’re going to have either a pantry or you can use it for clothes and whatnot.

Behind us is an RV queen. It’s very comfortable. When the slide room comes in, it just flips up. Very easy to maneuver. Very simple to do, but again, very comfortable mattress.

Above the bed, we have storage, as well as a nightstand on the left side of the unit.

We have our lighting. Underneath are touch LEDs. I didn’t mention the lighting throughout the coach. They are LED strip lights that are dimmable.

So you can drop the lights down if you like, but it gives it a very nice, bright feel inside.

Also opposing the bed, you have some additional storage in these two large compartments. You have hanging storage here. Here you have your ladder that would access your bunk. And below would be more for your towels and that type of stuff, storage of pantry items.

Behind us is really what makes this coach so unique and so livable, and that is the extra-large bathroom.

We call this an L-shaped bath, but the shower itself here, as you walk in and go to the right, is a 36-inch by 30-inch shower. It’s extremely spacious. It’s large. Even a gentleman my size, I’ve got a lot of elbow room. I can move around. It’s not like I’m in a little cavity. So again, very nice to have.

Also, this has a three-panel glass shower door.

Very wide vanity. It has drawer storage below, as well as access to your plumbing and additional storage below.

Above us is a medicine cabinet. Quite large.

Further on in the bathroom, you do have more storage here. You have folding or hanging storage here. Quite large. And then below it, two large drawers. Again, both of them are soft-close.

You have enough space here to actually get dressed, which is a nice little feature because there’s a door there for privacy. And then tucked away in the corner here is your water closet, so it gives you some semblance of privacy.

We feel that the size, the use, and how this is designed really separates this from the majority of the RVs that are out there.

Now that you’ve seen the coach, let’s talk about specifications.

Specifications for the 6251 are as follows. The length is 26 feet, 9 inches. The width is 100 inches. The height is 11 feet, 3 inches. The gross vehicle weight rating is 14,500 pounds. The gross combined vehicle weight rating is 22,000 pounds.

The actual weight is 12,100 pounds. The net carrying capacity is 2,400 pounds. Wheelbase is 185 inches. The hitch is 7,500 pounds with a seven-way receiver.

The fresh water tank is 34 gallons. The gray water tank is 38, followed by the black at 38. Also, the awning is 14 feet long.

The number of seat belts is six with the standard booth dinette and four with the optional theater seats, and the LP tank is 42 pounds.

Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser Review: A Retro Travel Trailer That Stands Out

If you’ve been looking at travel trailers and thinking they all start to look the same, you’re not alone.

That’s exactly why the Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser lineup has been getting attention. It offers something different—retro-inspired design, lightweight towing, and layouts that feel comfortable without going oversized.

But is it just about looks, or is there more to it?

Who Is Gulf Stream Coach?

Gulf Stream Coach is one of the most established names in the RV industry and is widely recognized as the largest family-owned, independent RV manufacturer in the United States.

Founded in 1983, the company has built its reputation on producing high-value motorhomes and travel trailers while maintaining the flexibility that comes with being privately owned. That independence allows Gulf Stream to stay focused on what matters most to buyers—quality, practicality, and real-world usability.

The company has also been recognized with the RVDA Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) Quality Circle Award for multiple years, an honor based on direct feedback from RV dealers across the country. It’s one of the industry’s clearest indicators of consistent product quality and dealer confidence.

For buyers, that combination of long-standing experience, independent ownership, and proven dealer satisfaction adds an extra level of confidence when choosing a Vintage Cruiser or any Gulf Stream RV.

What Is the Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser?

The Vintage Cruiser is a line of lightweight travel trailers from Gulf Stream Coach, built to combine classic styling with modern RV features.

Across the lineup, you’ll find:

  • Compact, easy-to-manage floorplans
  • Distinctive 1950s-inspired design
  • Practical features for real camping use

Most models range from about 19 to 25 feet, making them a good fit for both weekend trips and longer stays.

Why Does the Vintage Cruiser Look So Different From Other Campers?

Most travel trailers today lean toward neutral colors and similar designs.

The Vintage Cruiser takes a different approach.

Instead of blending in, it focuses on:

  • Retro color schemes
  • Classic diner-style interiors
  • Coordinated design details throughout

It’s the kind of camper that people notice right away—both on the road and at the campsite.

What Color Options Are Available on the Vintage Cruiser?

One of the things that immediately sets the Vintage Cruiser apart is its color.

While most travel trailers stick to neutral tones, this lineup gives you options that actually feel personal and distinctive.

Buyers can choose from several combinations, including:

  • Laura Ashley plaid exteriors paired with Wisteria floral interiors in Newport Blue, blending classic English charm with a more refined, modern feel
  • Turquoise and Knotty Pine, a bright, nostalgic look with warm interior tones
  • Turquoise and Maputo, a lighter, airier take on the classic turquoise exterior
  • Crimson and Knotty Pine, a bold, vintage-inspired combination with a cozy interior feel
  • Crimson and Maputo, offering a strong exterior color balanced by a lighter interior palette

These aren’t just small accents. The color carries throughout the trailer, inside and out, creating a cohesive look that’s very different from what you’ll see on most lots.

Is the Vintage Cruiser Just About Style?

No, and that’s an important point.

While the design is what draws attention, the construction is built to hold up over time.

Across the lineup, you’ll find:

  • Six-sided welded aluminum framing
  • One-piece laminated roof, front, and rear wall
  • Azdel composite panels for moisture resistance

These materials are used to keep the trailer:

  • Strong
  • Lightweight
  • More resistant to long-term wear

So it’s not just a design-focused camper—it’s built with durability in mind.

How Easy Is a Vintage Cruiser to Tow?

One of the biggest reasons people consider this lineup is ease of towing.

Because of its lightweight construction:

  • Many models can be towed by SUVs
  • You don’t necessarily need a heavy-duty truck
  • It’s a more approachable option for first-time RV owners

For shoppers searching things like:

  • “lightweight travel trailer”
  • “easy to tow camper”
  • “RV for beginners”

The Vintage Cruiser fits naturally into that category.

What Is the Interior Like?

Inside, the goal is to make a smaller trailer feel more open and comfortable.

Common features include:

  • Large windows that bring in natural light
  • Full dry bathrooms and kitchens
  • Layouts that feel usable, not cramped
  • Up to a 7-foot interior height

Depending on the model, you’ll also find:

  • Rear dinette setups
  • Front queen beds

It’s designed to feel like a place you actually want to spend time, not just sleep.

What Floorplans Are Available in the Vintage Cruiser Line?

The Vintage Cruiser lineup includes several types of layouts, depending on how you camp.

You’ll find options like:

  • Couples-focused models with open living space
  • Family-friendly units with additional sleeping areas
  • Smaller trailers built for easy towing and quick trips

Because the lineup stays in that 19–25 foot range, it keeps things manageable while still offering variety.

Who Is the Vintage Cruiser Best For?

This lineup tends to appeal to people who:

  • Want something that doesn’t look like every other trailer
  • Prefer a lighter, easier-to-tow camper
  • Care about both design and functionality
  • Are looking for a couples trailer or small family option

It’s especially popular with buyers who say:

“Everything on the lot feels the same.”

Is the Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser Worth It?

If you’re comparing travel trailers, the Vintage Cruiser stands out in a few key ways:

  • It has a distinct look that sets it apart
  • It’s lightweight and easier to tow than many alternatives
  • It offers a comfortable interior without going too large

For many buyers, that combination is exactly what they’re looking for.

The Gulf Stream Coach Vintage Cruiser perfectly blends classic aesthetic with state-of-the-art camping technology.

These lightweight travel trailers turn heads with their distinctive 1950s design. The attention to detail is unmatched, right down to the color-coordinated frame, diamond plate, and wheels.

But the Vintage Cruiser is more than just good looks. It leads the industry in strength and durability. It’s one of the only RVs built with a six-sided welded aluminum frame and a one-piece laminated roof, front, and back wall.

Inside those laminated walls is Azdel.

This construction ensures maximum rigidity while keeping the trailer lightweight enough to tow with smaller SUVs or minivans.

Plus, a spacious seven-foot interior height makes models ranging from 19 to 25 feet feel much larger than your average lightweight trailer.

Gulf Stream Coach – Multiple Winner of the Quality Circle Award

The Quality Circle Award – A measure of distinction.

All RVs are not created equal – Thank goodness for that!  – The variations give owners a huge range of floor plans, features, specifications, and prices.

One measure of distinction at Gulf Stream Coach should be particularly important to RV shoppers.   It’s something called the Quality Circle Award from the RV Dealers Association, and here’s why it means so much:

RVDA uses a secret ballot to choose Quality Circle Award winners.

The Quality Circle Award is given to RV Manufacturers based on votes by RV dealers across the US and Canada.  It’s like the “Academy Award” of the RV industry!  The award is earned by a very small fraction of the RVs on the market, based on survey results from RV Dealers measuring product quality, warranty and service support, and overall Dealer satisfaction.

It should come as no surprise that Gulf Stream Coach is a multiple-award, multiple-year winner, with many of its popular brands heralded for quality, support, and satisfaction.  After all, being responsive and responsible to our dealers and retail customers is the foundation of our way of doing business.  Because we’re family-owned and family-focused, we don’t spend time or money satisfying the demands of a corporate board of directors or stockholders.  We spend time and money pleasing YOU.

Our award-winning focus on families has a 30-year heritage.

Our family focus has proven itself in the business world with over 30 years of success fulfilling the needs of hundreds of valuable dealers, and making dreams come true for hundreds of thousands of camping families – And we have the Quality Circle Awards to prove it!
