Camping in Small Trailers Is FUN!

Ask anyone devoted to trailer camping with a small, lightweight, simple travel trailer – Efficient use of space is essential. Truth be told, it’s part of the fun of camping in a smaller trailer too – Coming up with novel, creative storage solutions is more than a passing hobby for many owners, who take advantage of every possible nook and cranny in their much-loved little trailers.

One big limitation in the quest for more space, though, is the refrigerator. And unlike the search for more nooks and crannies, there is just so much space inside that cold cube! Rollin’ On TV Visits Gulf Stream Coach

Gulf Stream Coach was pleased and proud to welcome Executive Producer Joe Moniz and the production crew from “Rollin’ On TV” to the Gulf Stream Coach property on a beautiful day in early June. “Rollin’ On TV” is a syndicated show airing on cable networks across the United States, and is available in over 40,000,000 households. It provides an ongoing view of the RV industry and the RV lifestyle by exploring RVs, RV-related products, features, accessories, and camping tips with RV enthusiasts in an entertaining, easy-to-understand half-hour program.

“Rollin’ On TV” is producing a program segment about Gulf Stream and our Conquest Class C motor homes to be aired in early August. It’s likely it will be available in your area – Just check with your local cable/satellite provider, or visit www.rollingontv.com for air times and dates.

If you’re like many people, you love the chance to explore RV floor plans through pictures and videos. That’s why we we’re excited to announce that we’ve flooded the Gulf Stream Coach Web site with 57 new walk-through videos to help you find the RV that’s right for you!

Each walk-through video offers you a quick but thorough tour through one of our travel trailer, motor home, or toy hauler interiors. In each video you get an in-person look at the living area, kitchen, bedrooms, baths, and other features. All the walk-throughs are just 1 to 2 minutes long, and all are presented without the distraction of a salesperson’s sales pitch.

Our videos are easy to find

Where are the walk-through videos? There’s a “View Our Videos” button at the top of every page that will take you to the whole library, ordered by brand. There is also a “Videos” choice in the “Shopping Tools” drop-down on every page.

If you’re on specific brand or model pages on the site, you’ll find a “Videos” tab near the top of the page that will show you all the videos for that particular brand.

Vintage Cruiser Releases Two New Bunkhouse Floor Plans

In response to numerous requests from Vintage Cruiser fans and dealers, Gulf Stream Coach just announced the release of two new Bunkhouse Floor Plans – The 19BFD and the 23BHS. While sharing many of the specifications of other Vintage Cruiser 19- and 23- ft models. the two new arrivals both include upper and lower 28″ x 74″ bunks for visitors, guests, children, grandchildren, or pets.

In addition to the bunks, both floor plans also take advantage of one of the most versatile approaches to combining living space with sleeping accommodations – A Murphy Bed! In the 19BFD, a roomy dinette, flanked with picture windows, fills the front of the trailer. With a few simple adjustments, when it’s time to turn in, a Murphy Bed folds open across the dinette, providing a flat, comfy 60″ x 74″ bed that. It’s not a collection of dinette cushions – it’s a real bed!

In the 23BHS, the dinette is in a slide-out, so the Murphy Bed opens across the front sofa, providing a flatter, firmer, more comfortable sleeping surface than any sofa-bed.

The 19BFD has another trick ‘up its sleeve,’ too: Take a look at the image on the left, or at this early picture gallery of the new 19-footer. Notice the big “Bike Door” in the rear wall of the trailer. Open it and you’ll see that the bottom bunk is hinged to fold up out of the way, making room for all kinds of camping cargo. Even bikes will fit inside. Notice too that the space under the bunk is open through to the main living area, making it possible to carry really long cargo, including fishing gear, skis, paddleboards, and even some kayaks. It’s ingenious!

Both new Bunkhouse floor plans are available with the now-famous teal-and-cream, crimson-and-cream, and “Woodie” Estate Wagon decors, and both feature the rigid, rock-solid, feather-light laminated walls and one-piece roof that made Vintage Cruiser the market leader.

New Conquest Class C 6238 Photo Gallery Now Online

The photographer took his camera inside one of the most popular floor plans in the Gulf Stream Coach lineup, the Conquest Class C 6238, and the results are posted online here.

The 6238 provides motor home customers with every comfort of home, in a well-planned and skillfully built floor plan. The 6238 includes a large 60″ x 74″ bed, a full dry bath, a large main living area with a convertible dinette in the slide-out, and a full stainless steel kitchen.

The 6238 Cradle Of Strength Foundation

We build the 6238 on the rugged, efficient, powerful Ford E350 platform, with the Ford 6.7L V10 engine. But Gulf Stream Coach takes over just one inch above the steel rails of the Ford chassis, where we add our exclusive “Cradle Of Strength®”. The Cradle Of Strength® (see our previous post) uses box-style steel trusses, steel stringers, welded braces, metal cargo boxes, and a diamond plate subfloor to help keep your traveling family safe and comfortable.

Laminated Fiberglass Walls

The 6238 is enclosed by lightweight yet rigid laminated fiberglass walls that use welded tubular aluminum, rigid polyfoam insulation, and synthetic Azdel subtrates. We vacuum-bond these layers with advanced adhesives in our own lamination plant, using a proprietary process we’ve developed over the past 30 years.

We build the roof with a welded aluminum truss system and seamless synthetic rubber to shed water and resist leaks.

Stylish Interior Decor, Extensive Standard Features

The decor and furnishings inside the Conquest Class C 6238 reflect the casual yet sophisticated look popular in vacation homes, with extensive use of our Roanoke Light Cherry woodwork and coordinating fabrics, leather-touch vinyl, and easy-care wood-grain flooring. Electronics include hookups for an optional HDTV/DVD player, a standard rear-mount backup camera and in-dash color monitor, USB charging ports, and cool, efficient LED lighting inside and out.

Drawers, cabinets, closets, and other storage areas are handy at every turn. Floor-ducted heating and overhead ducted air conditioning keep your family comfortable, and a standard 4-kilowatt generator keeps everything powered up.

Why Our Super Lite Travel Trailers Are So Popular

At Gulf Stream Coach, we’ve been building the Super Lite line of travel trailers for more than a decade, and they continue to be among our most popular offerings. Here are some of the reasons why:

1. Super Lite travel trailers are very economical

Our Super Lite models (see the floor plans and specifications here) are our most affordable travel trailers. In fact, they often rival pop-ups and other basic campers that don’t offer anything comparable to Super-Lite comfort, security, and durability. If your budget for a travel trailer is limited – If you want a truly economical way to try out the RV lifestyle, there is no better starting point than our Super Lites.

2. They’re easy to tow

With base weights below 3,200 lbs, our Super Lites can be towed by a suitably equipped car, smaller SUV, or mini-van – No need to invest in a specialized tow vehicle – Just hitch up to your family vehicle. They’re just 7 ft. 8 in. wide, too, so you won’t need extensions for your rear view mirrors. With their short wheelbases, they’re easy to maneuver and turn. Super Lite travel trailers use our exclusive “Uni-Body Construction” technology (learn more about it here), that ties the walls, floor and ceiling together with tough steel straps. We provide a firm foundation for walls by setting them on top of the floor, then bolting them in place. We hand-cut thick fiberglass insulation to fill the walls, roof, and subfloor, and then glue it in place to prevent settling. Our seamless ‘super-floors’ span up to 25 feet with no seams or joints, to make the floor solid and trouble-free.

We use rigid tubular steel rails and full-length outriggers in our Super Lite trailers, for a solid foundation; walls and roofs use solid wood studs on 16″ centers, for plenty of strength and durability; and the seamless synthetic roof has a 12-year warranty. Even the Super Lite holding tanks are something to brag about, with the largest capacities of any trailer in this class.
